What To Expect At WWDC 2013

Today Apple have started setting up the stage for its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference which will take place on the 10th June. At the Worldwide Developers Conference Apple brings together its top developers and engineers to reveal the future of Apple software and hardware. At this years WWDC we will be treated to a variety of new services, software updates and possibly hardware. Here is a look at what you can expect from Apple at the 2013 Worldwide Developers Conference.

iOS 7

iOS 7 is almost certain to be unveiled at this years conference with a design overhaul from Sir Jony Ive; who had previously designed Apple’s hardware and continues to do so. The next installment of iOS is rumoured to have been given a huge design change with it being flatter and simpler than ever before. However, many would like a brighter experience within iOS and some even believe Apple will take a few ideas from its competitors Android and Windows Phone. iOS 7 is very likely to be unveiled at WWDC 2013 and will likely be on offer to consumers with the release of the next-generation iPhone or iPad. However, it is not know how big this new design will be with Apple taking care not to spook its long time users.

OS X

OS X is likely to have minimal changes. Small changes to the overall UI and further integration with iOS and iCloud is likely to be introduced. OS X is certainly a well built OS and is currently growing in popularity among consumers; hinting that no huge design changes will be revealed at WWDC.

Mac Pro

With Apple currently focusing on their post-PC products you could argue that their Mac product range are becoming less vital to Apple’s overall success in the consumer market. However, in recent weeks many online retailers have seen a huge dive in supply of Apple’s Mac Pro line of products which may suggest a upcoming update to its line. However, Intel have also recently unveiled a new processor chip which is rumoured to be featured within Apple’s future MacBook devices which also suggest that Apple may be ready to lift the lid on some new MacBook products. Any new MacBook unveiled will likely only have some small changes made as it was not long ago since they unveiled the Retina MacBook Pro.

iPhone & iPad

This years WWDC is almost certain not to feature any form of hardware within the iPhone or iPad range of products. In Apple’s recent history they are now holding specific events for these hugely popular products to give a further in-depth look at the hardware. You can almost be certain that no iPad or iPhone hardware will be unveiled at this years conference.

iRadio

iRadio is reported to be Apple’s upcoming radio streaming service and in recent days it has been unofficially announced that Apple have partnered with Warner Bros. Music as a streaming partner. The iRadio is likely to be integrated with iTunes and offer worldwide radio broadcasting and multiple other functions. If iRadio is indeed reality within Apple then it is likely to show its face at WWDC this year after months of rumours.

iCloud

Many have claimed iCloud would receive some needed updates at this years conference and this is very possibly. However, these changes will be very minimal and will likely introduce further integration; possibly with Apple’s new iRadio service.

iWatch & Apple TV

Both the iWatch and Apple TV have been hugely reported over the past year. However, in a recent interview at the All Thing’s D conference Tim Cook (Apple, CEO) made very clear that Apple are not going to unveil an iWatch shortly and are still developing both the concept and hardware. A Apple TV is also likely in the concept stage with Apple working to gain partnerships with various content providers; but I’m almost certain that Apple will not unveil an iWatch or Apple TV at this years conference.

The conference will take place on the 10th June and the team here at Your Gadget Guide will be providing editorial content throughout the event. Be sure to share your wishes in the comment section below.
