Tesco has unveiled its own cut price 7-inch Android tablet called the Hudl which comes with 16GB of storage and sells for £119.
The Hudl, which is £80 cheaper than Google’s Nexus 7 and half the price of the iPad mini, goes on sale on September 30. It comes in black, blue, purple and red.
Members of Tesco’s Clubcard loyalty program will be able to double up their points value to get the tablet for just £60.
Michael Comish, group digital officer at Tesco, said: “Hudl demonstrates our commitment to being digital leaders.
“We have the content and now the hardware and while the price is market leading, we certainly haven’t cut corners when it comes to the specifications.”
